Staff Positions

Operations Support (Inventory Receiving/Data Entry) 10-15 hrs/week

Ready to bring all operational knowledge of the non-profit (NP) landscape, to become an integral part of our operations team? Work alongside the Executive Director, participate in and contribute to marketing, social media, operations, finance, and strategy discussions. Here is an ideal role for someone looking to pursue a career in NP management. You will have an opportunity to engage with our outstanding board and team of advisers with a voice to make a real difference.

Volunteer Engagement Coordinator 15-20 hrs/week

Enjoy making new friends? Do you thrive on reaching out and engaging groups of people? At The Media Foundation, our volunteers are the lifeblood of our organization. You’ll be supporting our volunteer engagement team in responding to, recruiting, hosting, and maintaining our diverse, rapidly growing population of dedicated volunteers.

Vinyl Specialist 10-15 hrs/week

Do you enjoy the classics? How about vinyl records from all Decades? The Media Foundation has an abundance of vinyl (LPs) that need to be properly handled, labeled, and stored. If this is something that peaks your interest and you have the gentle touch, bring your love of the classics with you and help support our local nonprofits.

Administrative Support 10-15 hrs/week

Striving for a career in the nonprofit field? Do you enjoy seeing the big picture and participating in a variety of tasks? In supporting the efforts of our Executive Director, you will have the opportunity to participate in many aspect of the operation. Bring your attention to detail, resourcefulness, and your experience. You will gain exposure to various work that the nonprofit scene is doing in our community.

Internship Positions

Passionate about making a real impact in our community? Are you looking to expand your  knowledge to help in building your work experience? The Media Foundation would love for you to bring your energy and insight to a fast growing non-profit in SW Portland (Beaverton). Your efforts will create a real difference in social, economic, and educational areas, helping our growing list of non-profit partners. You will also get hands on experience working within the structure of a non-profit organization to help build your portfolio. These are non-paid positions with a three month requirement. We are currently seeking highly motivated college and/or graduate students to assist us with the following internships:

Social Media Internship

Bring all your online savvy to support our outreach efforts, while attracting and interacting with our volunteers and our nonprofit partners. Increase our visibility, volunteer engagement, partner interaction, and website traffic by leveraging all the current social media tools.

Do you have a keen eye for detail, enjoy writing, and can summarize your ideas into 140 characters. You will be working online with Facebook and Twitter. If you can get excited about making a significant impact in our community then this is the right fit for you.

Online Marketplace Internship

You will assist us with identifying, prioritizing, and entering media donations (books, CDs, vinyls, DVDs, video games, and software) into our online database.

Although data entry is a key piece of this position, you will also engage in critical thinking to discern what each piece of media is and determine whether it can be listed online.

Community Engagement Specialist Internship

You’ll be supporting our volunteer engagement team in responding to, recruiting, hosting, and maintaining our diverse, and rapidly growing population of dedicated volunteers.

You will work with the Volunteer Coordinator and help schedule events, And attend events that help increase our volunteer base.

Customer Service Associate Internship

We are seeking an organized individual who enjoys problem solving and providing high-quality customer service. This individual will be in charge of handling communications between The Media Foundation and our customers.

Some of the issues you will address include cancellations, returns, and a wide variety of customer questions. You must be comfortable answering the phone and capable of staying on top of responding to customer emails. You will also be in charge of creating a document of responses to common customer requests, and will have the freedom to implement other systems as you see fit that will aid The Media Foundation in our efforts to build positive customer relationships.
